Taichung Farmer Lin Fan-Min Wins Gold at Japan Rice Contest, Showcasing Agricultural Spirit

Lin Fan-Min, a farmer from Taichung's Wuri district, has returned to agriculture after a decade in the advertising industry, winning a gold medal at the Japan Rice Taste Evaluation Contest.
Originally working in the advertising sign industry, Lin returned to farming to take care of his elderly parents. His decade-long effort has led to numerous accolades, including the championship in the Wuri district competition and a gold medal in the national fragrant rice category.
Lin emphasizes, "In the rice cultivation process, we strive to take care of every aspect of quality." He also acknowledges the challenges posed by climate and cultivates rice based on its characteristics. Through scientific exploration and data analysis, he has successfully developed the Gaoxiong 147 rice variety, achieving excellent results in domestic and international competitions.
According to Zhang Han-Qiang, the general secretary of the Wuri Farmers' Association, "Winning gold again in Japan reaffirms Taiwan's agricultural capabilities to the world."
After ten years of hard work, Lin's achievements are now ripe like rice grains, showcasing Taiwanese agricultural skills and culture to the world.
