Taiwan Tourism Bureau Opens New Service Office in Seattle to Expand North American Market

The Taiwan Tourism Bureau held a ceremony on June 13 (North America time) to inaugurate the 'Taiwan Tourism Service Office in Seattle' (TTIC) in Seattle, USA, aiming to enhance Taiwan's tourism promotion efforts in North America. The event was hosted by Director Zhen Guoqing and attended by international team leader Huang Yicheng and several travel industry representatives, marking a significant stride for Taiwan's tourism brand in the North American market.
With the increasing number of flights between Taiwan and North America, the weekly direct flights to major cities in North America have now reached nearly 190. Seattle has become a key hub connecting Taiwan to the northwest region of the United States. The Tourism Bureau stated that the number of flights from Taiwan to the U.S. has quadrupled in the past year, greatly enhancing the convenience and willingness of American travelers to visit Taiwan.
Director Zhen noted that the establishment of TTIC symbolizes a new phase in cultural exchange between Taiwan and the northwestern U.S., creating more opportunities for bilateral interaction. He expressed gratitude to the Tourism Bureau for their strong support of this project.
After the inauguration ceremony, the Tourism Bureau also held a Taiwan tourism promotion event, inviting local travel industry stakeholders and media to participate in business discussions and presentations, reinforcing product packaging and distribution cooperation, encouraging American operators to promote Taiwanese travel, and to continuously enhance Taiwan's international exposure and market visibility.
TTIC is conveniently located at Two Union Square, close to multiple light rail stations (University Street, Symphony, Westlake), making it easy for travelers interested in Taiwan to seek information and strengthen ties with the local tourism industry.
Looking ahead, TTIC plans to combine various local resources to organize a series of exciting events, including the 'Two Days Taiwan Immersive Festival' in August, a promotional art installation 'Hey Hey Taipei' at the airport in September, a limited-time Taiwan travel promotion project in collaboration with Expedia in October, enhancing the outdoor tourism image with participation in the Denver Marathon in May, and showcasing Taiwan's diversity and inclusiveness at Seattle Pride in June. Additionally, the Tourism Bureau plans multiple media familiarization trips (FAM trips) to connect local media and KOL resources, enhancing reporting exposure and brand awareness, and promoting sustainable growth and mutually beneficial development of Taiwan's tourism in the North American market.
