Intense Competition for 2026 Kaohsiung Mayor Nomination! DPP's 'Four Strong' Actively Engage with Voters This Weekend

In a bid for the 2026 mayoral nomination, four DPP legislators from Kaohsiung have been actively engaging with the grassroots over the weekend. Lin Dai-hua attended a Mother's Day event at a barrier-free community, while Lai Jui-lung and Chiu Yi-ying participated in activities in Daliao, indicating a friendly rivalry among them. Meanwhile, Hsu Chih-chieh gathered party friends for a brief trip to Tokyo.
Chiu Yi-ying, aiming for the nomination, visited Daliao and inspected the repair of the Cao Gong Stream barriers, expressing hopes for voter recognition through her efforts. She stated, "Last year when I visited the neighborhood chief for tea, he reflected the urgent need for repairs at this spot, so I quickly contacted the Agricultural Water Resources Agency."
Similarly, Lai Jui-lung held a rally in Daliao, advocating for Taiwan and Kaohsiung, saying, "I am very glad to be here, and I hope everyone will continue to support Taiwan and Kaohsiung together."
While Lai and Chiu faced off in Daliao, Lin Dai-hua chose to attend a Mother's Day event, and Hsu Chih-chieh led a group to visit Japan, noting the strong ties between Japan and his constituency. The candidates are stepping up efforts to connect with voters.
