Two Minnesota Legislators Shot, Suspected Political Assassination

A shocking gun attack has occurred in Minnesota, where two state legislators and their spouses were shot in their suburban Minneapolis home. Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
The victims include State Senator John Hoffman and former Speaker of the House Melissa Hortman, both members of the Democratic Party. Unfortunately, Hortman and her husband have died. Local police have issued a shelter-in-place order for residents within a 3-mile radius of the Edina Golf Club.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has activated the state emergency operations center and is on-site. Walz stated at a press conference that the Hortmans were killed in their home in Brooklyn Park, while Senator Hoffman and his wife were shot in their home in Champlin. They sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were hospitalized after surgery but remain in critical condition.
Authorities suspect this could be a politically motivated assassination, with reports suggesting the assailant may have posed as a law enforcement officer.
