Taiwanese Nationals Can Enter the Philippines Visa-Free Starting July 1: Important Information Included

The Philippine government announced today (19th) that starting July 1, holders of Taiwanese passports can enter the Philippines without a visa, staying for a maximum of 14 days. The official statement also emphasizes that this visa exemption only applies to those entering for tourism purposes, and extensions beyond the permitted stay are not allowed.
Travelers are required to prepare the following documents upon entry:
- A passport valid for at least 6 months from the planned date of departure
- Confirmed hotel reservations or accommodations
- Proof of sufficient funds to cover the expenses during the stay in the Philippines
- Return tickets or tickets to a third country
Additionally, those wishing to stay beyond 14 days or entering for non-tourism purposes will need to apply for a visa in advance and submit necessary documentation, including a completed visa application form and identification documents.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reminds citizens to comply with local laws while in the Philippines and ensure their own safety. In case of emergencies, contact the nearest Philippine representative office or call the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ emergency contact center for assistance.
