Hong Kong’s IPO fundraising hits HK$56.4 billion in May
Fueled by the AI boom, Hong Kong's stock market has outperformed the Asian markets this year. Data from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange shows that the IPO fundraising amount in May reached HK$56.4 billion, marking the largest monthly total since March 2021.
In the first five months of this year, the cumulative fundraising amount reached HK$77.7 billion, nearly 90% of last year's total. Additionally, the average daily trading amount at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange for the first five months of 2025 was HK$242.3 billion, a 120% increase from HK$110.2 billion in the same period last year.
