Chinese Coast Guard Ships Intrude into Kinmen Waters Again, 4 Vessels Detected

The Coast Guard Administration's Kinmen and Matsu Branch reported today (23rd) at around 2 PM that four Chinese coast guard ships were detected entering the restricted waters south of Kinmen. In response, the Coast Guard dispatched four patrol vessels to monitor the situation closely. Coast Guard officials broadcast warnings in both Chinese and English, instructing the coast guard ships to alter their course and leave Taiwanese waters. By around 5 PM, the coast guard ships had exited the area.
The Coast Guard indicated that this marks the fourth time since June that Chinese coast guard ships have intruded into Taiwanese waters, bringing the total incursions in Kinmen to 77. The Kinmen and Matsu Branch will continue to monitor Chinese coast guard activities and firmly uphold national sovereignty and security.
