Han Kuo-yu in Taoyuan Slams Recall Vote, Claims It Harms Taiwan's Democracy
Speaker of the Legislative Yuan Han Kuo-yu launched his campaign against recall votes today in Taoyuan, supporting Legislator Wan Mei-ling by declaring, "If the large-scale recall is successful, Taiwan's democracy will be in vain."
Han emphasized that he cannot accept the ongoing recall efforts, viewing them as a violation of democratic principles and a product of political strife. He warned that a successful recall would dismantle Taiwan's democracy, which has taken decades to build, and urged voters to cast their ballots against the recall to protect the progress of democracy in Taiwan.
