Taipei's Thai Fast Food Shop Offers Authentic Homestyle Dishes

Located on Fukel Road in western Taichung, the hidden gem known as【Ji Ping Thai Fast Food】is run by a Thai owner and recently opened its doors. Approaching the restaurant, the delightful aroma of Thai spices fills the air.
The atmosphere inside resembles a typical street-side cafeteria, with menus available in both Chinese and Thai. During my visit, there were even Thai friends dining inside. While the selection may be limited during a late lunch hour, the offerings mainly feature seasonal Taiwanese vegetables paired with the owner's homemade Thai sauces, which are the highlights of the meal.
Notably, the Thai sour and spicy soup is reasonably priced at NT$50 and includes an assortment of ingredients like radish, ginger, enoki mushrooms, and chicken. The chicken leg bento is another must-try item, featuring crispy skin and juicy meat paired with the homemade dipping sauce, which enhances the overall enjoyment of the dish. If you desire extra flavor, you're welcome to add more sour and spicy sauce from the side.
Additionally, the minced pork bento captures the classic flavors of Thai cuisine, seasoned to perfection without being greasy, and served with generous portions of rice made from long-grain Thai rice.
The restaurant's decor may be simple, but each dish evokes the comforting taste of a Thai mother's cooking—simple, flavorful, and reasonably priced. The friendly Thai owner is quite welcoming, though during busy hours you might have to wait a little, but it is certainly worth it!
