Typhoon Danas Weakens to Tropical Storm, Exits Near Hsinchu and Taoyuan

The Central Weather Administration has reported that Typhoon Danas made landfall in Budai, Chiayi County, at 11:40 PM yesterday (6th) and subsequently moved northward, gradually weakening. This morning at 5 AM, it weakened to a tropical storm and exited around 6 AM near Hsinchu and Taoyuan.
It is expected that the typhoon will continue to weaken, and its wind circle is also expected to shrink, but caution is still advised regarding rainfall and wave impacts. The CWA reminds that areas in Central and Southern Taiwan should maintain high vigilance.
As of 7:15 AM, the warning areas are as follows: Onland warnings: New Taipei, Keelung, Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, Yunlin, Chiayi, Yilan, Hualien; Maritime warnings: Northern Taiwan sea area, northern Taiwan Strait, and northeastern waters of Taiwan.
