2025 Tokyo Game Show Sets Record Participation, Highlighting Global Gaming Industry Revival

The 2025 Tokyo Game Show (Tokyo Game Show 2025, TGS 2025) is set to take place in September. According to the Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA), as of July 8, a record 772 exhibitors from 46 countries and regions are confirmed to participate, making it the largest show in history. Japanese companies number 473, while international firms total 299, with total booth count reaching 4083, surpassing last year’s 3252 and marking a significant revival in the global gaming industry.

This year’s event will showcase a wide range of game content across home consoles, smartphones, and PC platforms, including emerging applications in esports, AR/VR experiences, and blockchain games. In addition to game content, various gaming hardware and professional gaming furniture will be exhibited, reflecting the diverse landscape of the current gaming industry.

Alongside consumer-focused B2C exhibits, the B2B business negotiation space will be expanded to attract more global game developers, publishers, hardware manufacturers, platform providers, and related service providers. This aims to create opportunities for collaboration during the Tokyo Game Show and accelerate global gaming market partnerships.

A complete list of exhibitors, detailed booth information, and event arrangements will be announced on September 25. Many new product launches, trial sessions, and esports competitions are expected, drawing significant attention from both the industry and players.

The 2025 Tokyo Game Show will be held from September 25 to 28 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba City. The first two days (September 25 and 26) will be business-only days, open solely to industry professionals, while September 27 and 28 will be fully open to the general public, with an expected attendance of over 250,000, maintaining its status as Asia’s largest and globally significant gaming event.
