Lai Ching-te Respects Recall Motion, Chu Li-lun Criticizes Communication Issues

Kuomintang Chairman Chu Li-lun expressed dissatisfaction with Lai Ching-te's remarks, suggesting they glorify the actual situation. Lai, in a recent interview, stated his respect for the opposition's motion to recall the president on May 20, deeming it a constitutional process. Chu criticized Lai on the 18th, stating that he completely fails to communicate effectively.

In the interview for the online program “Mind Reader,” Lai emphasized that 'democratic issues must be solved with greater democracy' but acknowledged that many passed bills might be unconstitutional. When asked about enhancing bipartisan communication, Lai suggested that the current stalemate is not truly a communication issue since communication is merely a tool; real dialogue requires willingness from both parties.

While attending an event titled “Against Bullying and Dictatorship,” Chu expressed disappointment in Lai's respect for the recall motion, emphasizing that dialogue is necessary to resolve disputes. He criticized Lai for a lack of willingness to foster 'harmony' and communication throughout the past year, pointing out that with more significant difficulties during Chen Shui-bian's era, solutions were still found. Chu questioned the reliance solely on recall to solve issues, suggesting this was not how democracy should function.
