EVA Air Flight to Hong Kong Delayed for Four Hours Due to Brake Issue

EVA Air flight BR849, an A321 aircraft, was scheduled to depart from Kaohsiung International Airport to Hong Kong at 4:45 PM today. However, the flight faced an anomaly during taxiing to the runway, leading to a nearly four-hour delay before takeoff. After releasing the brakes, the aircraft reportedly did not move forward as expected, prompting the pilot to interrupt the takeoff procedure and report to the control tower, stopping on the runway to await rescue and inspection.
Despite the emergency situation, passenger emotions remained stable, and airport authorities temporarily closed the runway, impacting other flights. Ground crew quickly dispatched tow trucks to assist other airlines' aircraft.
EVA Air later announced that flight BR849 successfully took off at 8:29 PM and expressed deep apologies for the inconvenience caused to passengers, who were offered snacks and beverages during the wait.
