U.S. Considers Deploying Patrol Aircraft to Support Grounded South Korean P-3s

According to South Korean media, the U.S. and South Korea are discussing the deployment of U.S. military patrol aircraft to fill the operational gap during this period and ensure security on the Korean Peninsula.

Following the incident, all 16 South Korean P-3CK aircraft were grounded, and the U.S. military has expressed its willingness to send patrol aircraft to support the mission and provide intelligence assistance. Lee Seung-Jun, director of the press room of the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff, confirmed on the 2nd that discussions between the U.S. and South Korea have begun, with plans to send patrol aircraft from the Indo-Pacific Command to South Korea. Additionally, South Korea's P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft is expected to begin operational readiness in July.
