Global Travel Safety Ranking Revealed: Philippines Ranked Most Dangerous, Iceland and Singapore Top Safe List

The latest global survey by the UK financial comparison website HelloSafe reveals that the Philippines tops the list of "Most Dangerous Travel Countries" with a high score of 82.31, followed by Colombia, Mexico, India, and Russia—all popular travel destinations.
This evaluation is based on 35 criteria, including natural disasters, violent incidents, armed conflicts, healthcare facilities, and militarization. A higher score indicates greater risk. The 6th to 10th positions are held by Yemen, Indonesia, Somalia, Mozambique, and Pakistan.
Recently, security issues in the Philippines have attracted attention, with tourists reportedly facing theft and kidnapping, leading to a slight decline in tourist numbers. According to statistics from the Philippine Department of Tourism, the number of visitors in the first four months of this year was 1.93 million, a decrease of 0.83% compared to the same period last year.
In contrast, the top ten safest travel countries are primarily European nations, with Iceland ranking first at 18.23 points, followed by Singapore at 19.99, and then Denmark, Austria, and Switzerland. Other safe countries include the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Finland, Ireland, and Hungary, all scoring around 22 points, indicating a significantly lower risk compared to dangerous countries, which score above 70.
HelloSafe emphasizes that this ranking does not equate to travel attractiveness or popularity but is an objective global travel safety index based on safety risks, aiming to provide travelers with a useful risk reference.
