After Vance's remarks, Trump warned Khamenei on his Truth Social platform, calling him an 'easy target.' He stated, 'We are not going to take him out, at least not now, but we do not want missiles directed at civilians or American soldiers. Our patience is running thin.'

US officials noted that the White House has maintained a defensive posture in the conflict, assisting Israel in intercepting Iranian missiles and drones using US naval vessels.
