Indonesia's Lewotobi Volcano Erupts with Ash Clouds Over 10,000 Meters

The Lewotobi volcano in Central Indonesia's Sunda Islands erupted significantly at around 5:30 PM local time on the 17th. The ash cloud has reached heights above 10,000 meters and continues to spew.
During the eruption, the ash mixed with rocks prompted local residents to flee to avoid falling debris. Many captured the scene on their phones while escaping, as the massive mushroom cloud expanded upward, visible even from several kilometers away.
This eruption has startled local residents once again, with the ash column appearing dense and grayish-white, spreading in all directions. Indonesian authorities report that Lewotobi remains at a Level 3 alert status, with a maximum amplitude of 47.3 mm recorded, continuing for approximately 6 minutes and 53 seconds. Notably, the volcano had a similar large-scale eruption in April this year.
