Taiwan Showcases Biomedical Innovations at North American Bio Expo

The largest biotech exhibition in the world, the 'BIO International Convention,' was held in Boston, USA, featuring an opening ceremony for Taiwan's pavilion with guests from Europe, America, and Japan.

This event took place from June 16 to 19, organized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and various departments, forming a delegation of over 150 Taiwanese representatives who engaged in more than 1,000 business meetings, showcasing the potential collaboration of Taiwan's biomedical industry.

The Taiwan pavilion, themed 'Taiwan, Your Best Partner in Asia,' brought together 35 companies to display biomedical solutions for all age groups.

Weng Gu-Song, the head of the Industrial Development Bureau, highlighted the potential of Taiwan's biomedical industry in areas ranging from traditional biotechnology to new drugs and intelligent medical care, emphasizing its established manufacturing capabilities as an ideal global partner.

This year's highlights included the world's first fully automated AI-assisted pancreatic cancer detection system from Changzhi Digital Health, which received breakthrough medical device certification from the FDA, antibody-drug conjugate technology from Jacheng Biotechnology, and a new botanical drug for the treatment of prostate enlargement developed by Jianyung Biotechnology. Additionally, two companies, Anhong Biomedicine and Yaoqi Biomedicine, reached the finals of the Start-Up Stadium competition.

In efforts to deepen the link between Taiwan's biomedical industry and American business opportunities, Taiwanese companies visited prominent pharmaceutical and research institutions in Phoenix and New Jersey for negotiations, including the Mayo Clinic and CMIC Group's USA division.
