However, he can no longer accept the DPP's sole focus on 'anti-China and pro-Taiwan' policies, which prompted him to choose to travel to China recently. The rally attracted over 10,000 supporters despite the continuous rain, and speeches from KMT legislators energized the crowd, urging them to vote against the recall motion as a demonstration of support for democracy.
